Port of Corpus Christi Security Upgrades Add this

Constantly Upgrading Security as a Leader in the Maritime Industry

Strategically located on the western Gulf of Mexico, Port of Corpus Christi is the sixth-largest port in the United States in total tonnage. With a straight 45' deep channel, the Port provides quick access to the Gulf, the United States inland waterway system and the world beyond.

G4S Technology has deployed and implemented several security enhancements for the Port of Corpus Christi. These enhancements include waterside perimeter security, high-mast lighting and an integrated video surveillance and monitoring system in 2004.

A More-Efficient, Secure Environment

The Port selected Adesta to provide and integrate these enhancements that included CCTV, thermal imaging cameras and motion detection systems. These improved security technologies allowed Port officials to reduce manpower, increase efficiency and provide a more secure environment.

In 2009, G4S Technology began the design, installation and integration of an enhanced Command and Control system that will allow the Port to have an all-encompassing view of security status in real time. It will merge event and alarm reporting from all various systems into a single operator interface. They have also added radar and SONAR systems for an additional layer of Port entrance protection, and new computer aided dispatch (CAD) and records management systems.

A Comprehensive Solution

The comprehensive security solutions created by G4S Technology provides a fully integrated and secure environment from the Port's perimeter to their leading edge command and control center. Their solutions aggregate and correlate real-time data from various security systems and cameras, freeing valuable port resources from identifying, to mitigating, problems.

Bob Sommerfeld, President of G4S Technology had this to say. "We are committed to our ongoing partnership with the Port of Corpus Christi, and dedicated to ensuring they are guarded from any outside threats. Their high-level deployment provides a glimpse into the future of Maritime Security and solidifies the port of Corpus Christi as a Maritime leader."

Arch Archambo, Corpus Christi Chief of Police and Security had this to say. "G4S Technology (formerly Adesta) was the prime integrator for the Port of Corpus Christi's deployment of an intelligent video system. We were very satisfied with their performance and commitment, and expect similar success in the case of this state-of-the-art Command and Control installation."
