Enhancing Security at one of the World’s Largest Port Complexes
The Port of Los Angeles is the located in San Pedro Bay, just 20 miles south of downtown Los Angeles. This booming seaport not only sustains its competitive edge with record-setting cargo operations, but is also known for its groundbreaking environmental initiatives, progressive security measures and diverse recreational and educational facilities.
G4S Technology (formerly Adesta) designed and deployed an access control, CCTV and a video content analysis system through two separate contracts at numerous facilities for the Port of Los Angeles. They also designed, built and integrated additional cameras into the Port’s current security system. The cameras were strategically placed, providing a higher level of video protection to key areas within the Port complex. In addition to expanding the video analytics system, G4S Technology added sensors, access control and system monitoring capabilities.

The Port of Los Angeles is the leading container port in the nation and a critical hub in the international supply chain. The system will provide the port a higher level of protection and reduce the vulnerabilities of its facilities.
