Malmo Arena's secure leisure solution

The Malmo Arena is one of the largest multi use stadiums in Southern Sweden and its 15,000 people capacity caters for all kinds of events, from rock concerts, to sporting and leisure events or even business conventions or trade fairs.

Even before it was completed, the venue approached G4S to consult and advise on all that they would need to consider to provide the right levels of security and crowd management for such a large venue taking into account all possibilities of risk or threat including terrorist attack.

Using its expertise from protecting the prestigious O2 venue in London, Malmo took a team to the UK to see the solution G4S provided to the O2 and concluded that for Malmo they needed to provide a solution to exceed beyond basic security needs.

G4S provided a tailored solution for Malmo, identifying the need for different skills and talents in security, hospitality and facilities to cover all aspects of what was required. It even included a nursing facility and on site medical specialists for each event, and incorporated a cash management solution for the venue as well.

Its online resourcing system allowed staffing levels to be optimised, critical when the venue may have up to three different events taking place each day, or go from a rock concert one day to an international business convention the next.

G4S is at the Malmo Arena both front of house and behind the scenes ensuring people are looked after, safe and securely.
