Port of Beaumont Video Surveillance System

G4S Secure Integration designed and built a multi-phase automated video surveillance system

The Port of Beaumont is the second largest U.S. military port in the world. About 48 percent of military cargo shipped overseas for operations in Afghanistan and Iraq have passed through the port. Situated 84 miles east of Houston and 270 miles west of New Orleans, the Port of Beaumont is accessible from the Gulf of Mexico and Intracoastal Waterway via the federally maintained Sabine-Neche Ship Channel, a leader in world commerce.

G4S Secure Integration designed and built a multi-phase automated video surveillance system that maximized the effectiveness of the Port’s current security system, and continues to allow for future security upgrades. The improved system enhanced the automated detection and tracking of intruders within or approaching the Port complex and alerted Port Authority Police of intrusion instances. It also improved the Port’s ability to detect and monitor threats and promoted overall security through the addition of thermal imaging cameras. The existing cameras were also updated to make them compatible with the overall surveillance system.
