G4S 2012 community initiatives in the United States, Canada and Latin America
G4S Americas Region: Valuing Community Partnerships
Each month, G4S business units in the United States, Canada, Latin America and the Caribbean donate thousands of dollars and hundreds of volunteer hours to community groups.
From supporting child advocacy groups, volunteering to coach youth sports programs, building homes for those in need, participating in fundraising efforts for schools and donating services to domestic violence victims, G4S employees make a difference in their communites.
In 2012, G4S raised more than $1 million for community projects, volunteered more than 13,000 hours to hundreds of events and saved nearly 2,000 lives though blood donations across the region.

Community Initiative Highlights in the United States
Polar Bear Plunge Fundraiser for the Maryland Special Olympics
G4S Secure Solutions (USA)
The G4S Secure Solutions (USA) local office in Baltimore, Maryland, donated $5,500 in security services to the event that drew about 50,000 people. The Polar bear Plunge is not just an event — it's an experience that has become a winter-time tradition for thousands of warm-hearted Plungers! Participants take a quick dip into the frigid January waters of Chesapeake Bay. The event benefits Maryland's children and adults with intellectual disabilities, as they enjoy the life-changing benefits of participating with Special Olympics Maryland.
St. Joseph Haiti Parish Twinning Program
G4S Compliance & Investigations
In 2012, G4S Compliance & Investigations donated $45,000 to the St. Joseph Haiti Parish Twinning Program, a loan program that supports the underprivileged to start a small business and become self-sufficient. It also enriches children’s lives by providing educational opportunities and nutrition as well as improving quality of life by providing accessible health care.
Habitat for Humanity, Miami, Florida
The G4S Secure Solutions (USA) local office in Miami donated $32,648 at building sites for Habitat for Humanity's "Blitz Builds" the past two years. Habitat for Humanity seeks to eliminate poverty housing and homelessness from the world, and to make decent shelter a matter of conscience and action.

G4S Secure Solutions Canada
Each month, the G4S Secure Solutions team in Canada donates thousands of dollars and several volunteer hours to child advocacy groups such as, Sick Kids Hospital, ProActions Cops & Kids, Ronald McDonald House, and the Make-a-Wish Foundation.
Community Initiatives in the Latin America & Caribbean
Supporting Children, the Aged and the Disabled
G4S El Salvador
The G4S Secure Solutions team in El Salvador is involved in community efforts that involve volunteering time and donating money to support those who are less fortunate. The team has:
- Donated food, medicine and clothing to the elderly residents at the Saint Vincent De Paul Refuge
- Volunteered at HOPAC, a group that supports children with Cerebral Palsy
- Made monthly donations to the SOS Village, a center that provides a safe and nurturing place for orphans and children who can no longer live with their parents
Hogar La Piedad: Securing the Safety of Domestic Violence Victims
G4S Puerto Rico
In February 2012, G4S Puerto Rico personnel donated $1,000 and a security camera system to Hogar La Piedad, a non-profit organization that shelters victims of domestic violence.
G4S Swift Cycling Team Sponsorship, Barbados
G4S Barbados
G4S Barbados donated $4,000 for uniforms and training for the G4S Swift youth cycling team. Four of the 10 team members have been exposed to regional coaching in South America as well as regional and international cycling meetings. Winning more than 80 percent of their meets locally and regionally. Two team members are seeking to qualify for the 2016 Olympics.
YWCA Breakfast Club, Barbados
G4S Barbados
Each month, G4S personnel volunteer to serve breakfast to disadvantaged children at a local YWCA located in the community near the G4S Barbados Office. The program ensures that children living below the poverty line obtain a nutritional breakfast before going to school.
