Dignity & Respect

At G4S, dignity and respect is not simply a nice idea, it's a requirement of the company's Ethics Policy

G4S understands that dignity and respect are crucial to building and sustaining an environment in which employees feel included, valued, and appreciated. That's why it has adopted the principles of the Dignity & Respect Campaign, a national, grassroots initiative that supports organizations of all shapes and sizes.

The Campaign works by taking the Dignity & Respect Pledge and remembering that every day we have the opportunity to test our commitment to dignity and respect through our behavior.

G4S employees at all levels are encouraged to be mindful of their interactions with others and to commit to treating others the way they want to be treated, using the following 30 tips as a guide:

  1. Sweat the small stuff: It's often the small things, such as being kind and courteous, that make a difference
  2. Smile: A smile can be contagious
  3. Be considerate: Your words and actions affect others
  4. Say "Hello": You could make someone's day
  5. Say "Thank you": Gratitude is a gift that's never too small to give
  6. Reinvent the wheel: Do something that hasn't already been done
  7. Be open: Try to experience new thoughts and ideas as learning opportunities
  8. Be flexible: Things don't always go as planned, so adapt to changing conditions when necessary
