G4S 2010 community initiatives
Local teams supported United Way, Meals on Wheels, National Multiple Sclerosis Society, American Red Cross and more
Zimmerman MS Bike Ride (2008-2010):
G4S employees participated in the 2010 Zimmerman MS Bike Ride presented by Wachovia (a.k.a. MS 150), which took place on April 17 and 18. The annual event benefits the National Multiple Sclerosis (MS) Society. The G4S cycling team has participated in this charity event for three years in a row.
In 2008 they raised a total of $14,775, in 2009 $30,497, and in 2010 $35,504. So far, this team has raised a grand total of more than $80,000!
Relay for Life to support American Cancer Society Cancer Research (2010):
G4S Compliance & Investigations employees volunteered time and donated money to participate in Relay for Life.
Blood Drive for American Red Cross (2007-2010):
118 employees donating + one pint saves 3 people = 354 lives saved!
Remembering our Soldiers (2007-2010):
G4S Compliance & Investigations employees collected food, hygiene products, books, and games to assemble 60+ care packages for 240 soldiers on active duty. Baked goods were sent to USO for soldiers returning from deployment. Christmas cards were sent to injured soldiers in military hospitals across the United States.
Literacy for Wake Book Drive & Literacy Council of Wake County (LCWC) (2007-2010):
Employees donated over 200 new and gently used children’s books for adult and family literacy programs throughout Wake County (North Carolina).
Operation Christmas Child-Samaritan’s Purse (2010):
The idea of Operation Christmas Child is to fill any ordinary shoe box or a small plastic container with small toys, stuffed animals, markers, crayons, coloring books, etc. to bring happiness to a child in an impoverished and/or war-torn country on Christmas Day. G4S Compliance & Investigations employees donated 30+ boxes.
South Florida Race for the Cure® (2002-2010):
Since 2002, the G4S Secure Solutions team has raised over $75,000 for Susan G. Komen South Florida Race for the Cure®. Our team raised a total of $2,538, with G4S’ own Linda Phillips being named to the 2010 Pink Honor Roll as a Top 50 Fundraiser.

American Red Cross (2010):
G4S Justice employees in Orange County, California donated blood to American Red Cross and helped save 303 lives.
Second Harvest (2010):
G4S Justice employees donated 70 pounds and volunteered 80 hours at Second Harvest Food Bank in the Orange County, California area.
Feeding America’s Pound for Pound Challenge (2010):
G4S Justice Services employees donated 1,400 pounds of food through Pound for Pound Challenge which included participation from G4S Justice Services colleagues nationwide. Pound For Pound Challenge is a partnership among The Biggest Loser, Feeding America, General Mills and Subway, to help Feeding America secure millions of pounds of groceries on behalf of local food banks across the U.S.
Orangewood Children’s Foundation (2010):
G4S Justice Services raised nearly $3,500 for various non-profit organizations including Orangewood Children’s Foundation, a non-profit organization which provides assistance for abused children and families in Orange County (California).
Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure® (2010):
A group of employees and family members from G4S Justice Services, G4S Technology and G4S Secure Solutions partnered to raise funds and walk together in the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure®.
Open Door Mission/Sienna Francis House Back-to-School Program (2010):
G4S Technology employees in Omaha donate funds, shop for school supplies, and donate items to the program which supports low income families in local residential homeless shelters.
Meals on Wheels (2005-2010):
G4S Technology employee volunteers collect meals from a drop off location and deliver meals to seniors and people with disabilities. Since 2005, the team has delivered thousands of meals in Eastern Nebraska.
Adopt-a-Family in Omaha, Nebraska (2001-2010):
G4S Technology employees donate money, shop for presents and food, and then wrap and deliver gifts to local needy families during the holidays.
Annual Golf & Tennis Tournament in South Florida (1997-2010):
G4S Secure Solutions sponsors an Annual Charity Golf & Tennis Tournament. The event, which is held in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, has raised more than $1.5 million for local charities.

Gail Parkins Memorial Ovarian Cancer Awareness Walk (2008-2010):
G4S Compliance & Investigations employees participated and donated $7,500.
Young Life in Raleigh, North Carolina (2008-2010):
G4S Compliance & Investigations donated $1,500.
Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure® (2008-2010):
G4S Compliance & Investigations donated $1,250 to support breast cancer awareness.
St. Joseph’s Haiti Parish Twinning Program (2008-2010):
G4S Compliance & Investigations donated $86,000 and supported medical supply drive for Haiti Parish medical clinic. The parish of Pignon has been able to build schools and offer a microcredit program.
Continuous Blessings Foundation (2008-2010):
G4S Compliance & Investigations donated $10,000. The Continuous Blessings Foundation, inspired by the remarkable life and caring spirit of Chris Bunn, exists to meet the needs and create opportunities in the lives of youth in the greater Raleigh, NC area.
United Way (2008-2010):
Since 2008 G4S Technology employees have contributed more than $145,000 to United Way.
