With a corporate-wide Safety Program and a Safety Act Designation and Certification from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, G4S Secure Solutions (USA) supports safety at every level while assisting clients in mitigating risk and minimizing liability.

As the first contract security company to receive designation and certification by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security under the SAFETY Act, G4S has taken a proactive step to help protect customers in the face of an increasingly dangerous world.

As part of the Homeland Security Act of 2002, Public Law 107-296, Congress enacted the Support Anti-Terrorism by Fostering Effective Technologies Act (SAFETY Act) to provide “risk management” and “litigation management” protections for sellers of qualified anti-terrorism technologies and others in the supply and distribution chain.

SAFETY Act certification is noted by DHS as having the potential to have a positive impact on the cost and availability of terrorism risk insurance due to the reduction in liability exposure for both the providers and their customers.

The SAFETY Act creates certain liability limitations for third-party claims arising out of a terrorist attack for sellers whose anti-terror products or services have been certified by the DHS in America’s fight against terrorism. These liability protections extend to G4S Secure Solutions (USA) customers if a future act of terrorism occurs.
